Following a career in engineering and workforce development serving in both the Army and Network Rail, I have established a consultancy to advise on workforce competence, frontline leadership and skills training. I believe the secret to a safe and profitable business is creating an engaged and productive frontline workforce. To achieve this you need a sensible competence model that is linked to business performance rather risk avoidance and systems that allow this to be managed efficiently
